**The Dress Uniform (Blouse Coat) Is Not Mandatory**
This uniform can be worn at all formal functions such as prayer events, ceremonies, funerals, and the like. It must match exactly as depicted so it is uniform with everyone else. That’s what the word “uniform” means. When wearing this uniform, grooming guidelines pertaining to hair length & style along with facial hair should be adhered to. Please refer to Police Directive 78.

* The Police Chaplain Dress Uniform will consist of the Philadelphia Police official uniform blouse coat with the following identifying markings:
Blouse Coat on the epaulets a patch will be sewn centered on each side depicting the word CHAPLAIN (upper case) in silver with black background and silver border.
* On the left arm a Philadelphia Police patch and a rocker patch will be sewn as shown. The Rocker patch will display “POLICE CHAPLAIN” (in upper case). The colors will match the police emblem patch; yellow lettering & border with dark navy background. NOTE: Hooks on the back are not needed.
* The upper lapels will bear the particular religious symbols (gold Crosses shown). One on each side and parallel with each other
* Silver Name tag with first and last name (if it all fits)
* Silver buttons with the city logo.
* White Long Sleeve Police Shirt with Chaplain patch on epaulets, police logo on left sleeve and Police Chaplain rocker patch above it. Same as blouse coat. Gold religious symbol placed on each collar, parallel with each other, same as blouse. A White Short Sleeve Shirt should also be purchased and conformed in the same way as the Long Sleeve Shirt.
* Hat If you are a district chaplain, wear the same as the district police officers (8 point hat), but with the gold chin strap and gold buttons, along with the LT’s gold frontispiece (shown above).
* Police Trousers, dark navy with no stripe. Females may wear a plain dark navy skirt.
* Black shoes, socks and tie with tie clasp/pin.
* Police Chaplain Badge with a pin attachment. You may need to have a badge holder sewn on to the blouse coat to fit this type of badge fastener. You MUST HAVE a valid city Chaplain ID Card to obtain a police chaplain badge and it must be shown to the vendor prior to purchase.

Also Pictured is the authorized work uniform for the Philadelphia Police Chaplain and has been approved by the Police Commissioner. Trousers should be navy blue or black in color(511 type is recommended) . Shorts are not authorized or professional looking. Shoes are to be black shoes or black sneakers. Black or Navy Blue Coat / Jacket with the police logo and all identifying markings sewn on in the appropriate places along with "POLICE CHAPLAIN" depicted on the back in large yellow lettering can also be worn, weather permitting. This is the uniform to be worn in everyday Chaplaincy work, for example, ride-a-longs. Let’s keep this ministry professional and adhere to this uniform.
